He feels the urge to smile, but can only sigh instead, squinting into luminescence. His fingers curl in on themselves, because he cannot hold the light. It leaks from his skin and pores, into the sand, where it sinks and grows black. Left with nothing. Nothing to give, nothing to keep.But for the smallest of moments, he feels it sit in his hand, that white beam. For a second, it’s his own to keep. Soft as a kiss. Heavy as a bullet. *sob*
